Girl Sends 7th Partiful Update

Issue 85 | July 2026

Last Saturday, Chloe Abrams, wrote her magnum opus, 7 text blasts to the partiful for her birthday party titled “Chloe is turning REDACTED” [25]. Abrams began the night with a 90-minute reminder that the party was still on, as she felt the auto reminder partiful sends 2 hours ahead would not be clear enough. 45 minutes later, she sent an update pushing the meetup time at Barney Beanery back, because her birthday dinner pregame was taking longer than expected. 15 minutes after that, she shifted the start time back to its original, when she discovered she and her friends had exceeded the 90-minute table limit at Laurel Hardware. 9 minutes after that, she sent “Barney’s line is too long, let’s try Desert 5 Spot.”

The rest of the novel takes on an abstract, mosaic quality, likely trying to evoke the disjointed nature of an evening out: “does anyone have $200” “yee…..haw” “did someone take my phone? Sending this update from Abby's phone."

Abrams caps off her tome with an epilogue, a subtle petit bourgeois commentary on our consumer culture. “If you had any pizza at afters last night can you venmo me $3 xoxoxo ty divas.”
