Guy Who Was An OL Can't Stop Talking About How He Was An OL

Issue 33 | September 2021

It's been a month since classes started — the freshmen have moved in and midterm season looms over the student body. But, for senior Alfred Joe, it's still O-Week. "No you guys don't understand," he said to the QDOBA staff, "it's essentially the best experience I've ever had at Chapman like I really feel connected to this school more than ever."

Wearing his red fenestra fanny pack to class everyday, Alfred believes that his leadership role MUST continue throughout the entirety of the school year. "The other day I asked a freshman if they knew where they were going. They stared at me for a second before telling me they were a professor but I think that they could essentially tell that I wanted to make them feel comfortable on campus."

For Alfred Joe's housemates, their house is nothing like the "safe space" he promises them every day before class that it is: "The other night as we were ending our pregame he started chanting and jumping and telling us playfair's gonna be so hype tonight. Like bro we're heading to The D."

Alfred Joe's newfound love and appreciation for being a mentor has inspired him to be a helping hand on campus wherever he can. What's next for Joe you may ask? He wants to take it to the next level: being a tour guide.
