Mysterious and Wise Sage Hired as new University Counselor
Issue 59 | January 2024
In response to public outcry surrounding the inaccessibility of it's Student Counseling Services, Chapman has fired all of its therapists and replaced them with a wise and powerful wizard, Olagoth of the Mists.
However, while Olagoth has brought some improvements to Student Counseling—such as "Crystal Ball Drop In Hours" and the "24/7 Dragon Prevention Hotline"—many students have some misgivings about the sorcerer.
Besides over-prescribing medications such as toadstools, warding hexes, and Prozac, Olagoth has also been accused of avoiding his clients by giving out cryptic riddles and quests. "I journeyed three hours to Olagoth's tower in the Misty Mire just so I could get test accommodations," says student Arthur Peterson, "what the fuck am I supposed to do with 'atop the hallowed ground a sword lays asunder'?"
Despite this, Provost Norma Bouchard defends her hiring choice, insiting that Olagoth is an reputable shadow druid with years of experience in ancient scrolls, and that additionally, "the fact he takes payment in incense and squirrel bones made him way cheaper than those other shrinks."
This being said, it seems that Chapman really does know what's best for it's students, we look forward to the hiring of the Career Advising Bog Witch next Spring!
