The One Night a Year Single People Can Kill Themselves

Chapman alum filmmaker Jordan Simien-Duffer (Film Production ‘19) has unveiled the trailer for his new rom com which imagines a world where single people can legally only kill themselves on one night every year. “We were looking at The Purge movies and trying to find out a way to do a rom com play on that” Simien-Duffer told The Kumquat. “Killing yourself is such an integral part of the single experience. If you limit that to one night a year, how does it affect the dating scene and world at large?” An interesting question indeed. The Kumquat reached out to a single alum who recently killed themselves for comment, but has not heard back.
