Photodump Undermined by National Crisis

Our country is facing a tumultuous time, but none have suffered quite like Kelsey Peretti ('22). Peretti spent Q2 curating the perfect 18-slide-photodump when, tragically, on the day she was planning to drop her masterpiece, The National Guard arrived in Los Angeles.

This really could not have come at a worse time for Peretti, who had just gotten back disposables from her recent (parent-funded) trip to Greece. To cap it off, slide four was going to be a poster advertising her college sketch group's reunion show at The Yard Theater.

"I know ICE is like doing some things, and like, I hate that guy, but I was really looking forward to this," said Kelsey through tears, "How is anyone going to know that Father's Milk is still together?"

Unfortunately for Kels, bearing down and posting through the pain isn't an option for her. In Summer 2020, she endured the "Bikini Fiasco" where she captioned a thirst trap "Make Instagram Normal Again", the week after George Floyd was murdered.

"I got like, so many messages about that. I've learned and grown and changed and grown and now know you need to wait until public consciousness has largely forgotten about a still pressing issue before you can be a little horny and self-promoty on main."
